Local Food Artisan: Cravings-The Healthy Fix

This week, Turner Family Farms will be including some special goodies in our weekly subscription produce box (CSA) from Cravings – The Healthy Fix, our first featured local food artisan of 2019!

The first time Charlotte Evans attended the River Bluffs Farm Market as a vendor, I sat down to talk to her while I drank a cup of coffee and she handed me a Chickpea Peanut Butter Blondie.  Yes you read that right.  It was amazing, and it was real food.  So are her Vegan Black Bean Brownies, her Sweet Potato Protein Muffins, and her Lil’ Chocolate Zucchini Cakes.  I sat there and tasted four different healthy, nutritious snacks while her adorable dog watched me with his head cocked sideways as if to say, “good, isn’t it?”  Her dog’s name is Cookie.  Yes, you read that right, too.

Through her company, Cravings – The Healthy Fix, Charlotte offers brownies, muffins, cakes and pies that are unique in that, not only do they taste fantastic, but they also leave you feeling good about having eaten them.  Charlotte uses only the best ingredients like whole oats, vegetables, fruit, agave, coconut oil, and other nutritious ingredients instead of white flours and sugar, corn syrup and preservatives.  She offers gluten free and vegan options as well, so there’s something for everybody.

You can find Charlotte’s products at several local shops around Wilmington like the Tidal Creek Co-op, Bespoke Coffee, Ginders Cafe, and more.  Heck, go to her Cravings website and order some of these delicious treats for yourself.  You can also find her at the Farmer’s Market at Poplar Grove and at our River Bluffs Farm Market.  I’m including a small gallery of pictures below, but it’s worth going to her website to see pictures that do her creations justice.
